safety is a value every day, and values never change

Commitment to safety is a core value of GRI. We employ application-based safety programs for auditing and analytics, for both safety and human performance.

The goal of workplace safety in the construction industry is to protect the workers and prevent injury and death. GRI strives to not only meet OSHA’s requirements but to exceed them. If a company fails in safety, they can face steep fines, property damage as well as damage to goods, workers’ compensation costs, and even the possibility of ruining their reputation as an employer.

GRI takes employee safety seriously, we understand the importance of adequate training for every worker, not just the new hires. Maintaining machinery in top condition and ensuring it works correctly is another component to providing a safe working environment. It’s also necessary to provide the proper protective equipment to ensure the worker can perform their duties safely. All these steps work together to create a safe environment for all employees.

Steps taken to ensure safety for every worker include:

  • Proper training of all new employees – processes are in place to ensure every employee has the same information and follows the same procedures for their tasks

  • Continued learning – current employees receive refresher training to ensure they don’t forget proper safety procedures and to keep them updated on changes in safety issues

  • Proper labeling of areas for safety – restricted areas are noted to prevent access by unauthorized personnel

  • Regular maintenance of the work area – machinery is checked and all areas are monitored to ensure no hazards exist or they are labeled as such

  • Emergency action plans are in place – first aid kits and stations are provided and employees are informed on proper protocol if an injury should occur
